Chair for Professor Steve Bear is a client centered activity where learners design a chair for a stuffed-animal sized client (see more info on the attached client sheet). Learners must think about the needs of their client, and remember that they are not building something for themselves, but something for another person. Learners can use their engineering notebooks to plan, keep track of iterations, and ask questions about the needs of their client, Steve. This activity uses found and recycled materials, and lasts for about an hour class period.
