The STOMP rockets activity is one that is meant to get learners thinking about forces. Students are asked to build a rocket using recycled/found common household materials and record how far it goes. This is meant to be a fast-paced activity, with many iterations as students explore what makes the best rocket in terms of shape, weight, and materials. This activity can incorporate notebooks for documenting iteration, tracking testing results, and planning each rocket.
