Using LEGO Robotics kits, students will develop comfort with the mechanics of the LEGO building materials, programming on the bricks, and attaching motors. This is a technical activity that focuses on basic coding skills and mechanical engineering using LEGOs. Learners can incorporate notebooks into their planning by writing out the simple on-brick programming commands that they try, or to keep track of their planning. This is a flexible activity. Engineering facilitators can come up with an overarching narrative, such as Mars colonization or super-hero rescue team, to guide the activity.
