Curriculum documents are an important expectation because they allow outreach ambassadors to share their work, receive feedback (from peers, mentors, and teachers), and draw on the ideas of others as resources. This meeting provides this motivation for an effective curriculum document in a folder shared with other ambassadors as well as an outline of what that document should include. Provide time for ambassadors to work (in co-teaching partners if relevant) to outline curricula for the semester, and build time for small group discussion.
In a curriculum document, include:
- Learning Goals (skills and knowledge) for each activity and for overarching curriculum
- Materials needed for each activity
- Activity procedure (with approx. timing)
- Pictures! (taken during the activity, added after)
- Brief (1 paragraph) reflection (after activity)
- Specific questions to request feedback
It may be helpful to have both a document summarizing the overarching curriculum and individual detailed activity documents!
