Full Value Contract

As a class (or full group of outreach participants), brainstorm and agree upon norms, rules, and values. This could include respectful sharing of ideas and feedback, equitable teamwork, safety rules, and more. How would you like to be treated? How should you treat others? Facilitators can offer rules during this process –particularly for safety and group management. Write the agreement in a visible, shared location. Maybe distribute this written piece in engineering notebooks as well, where learners can sign to commit to the agreement, and be reminded of its contents. It may be useful to revisit the contract at various stages of the multi-session outreach experience, particularly when addressing skills like teamwork and feedback, and the contract can be an actively growing agreement over time as new issues arise.
